He served as a Director on board of Pernod Ricard India (earlier Seagram) for more than ten years. He was responsible for HR and Administration and had Corporate HR, Plant HR, and Administration reporting into him.Pernod Ricard Headuarters is in Gurgaon and have 30 manufacturing units and 17 sales offices across the country.
In India, Pernod Ricard is a formidable player in the alco-bev industry with powerhouse brands like Royal Stag, Blenders Pride, Imperial Blue, 100 Pipers, Chivas Regal and Absolut in its diverse portfolio is today a Rs 10,000 crore company.
A team of 12 professionally qualified HR and Administration personnel reported to Gopi, managing company manpower of 1000 employees and outsourced manpower of 5000 employees. A subject matter expert in HR including statutory compliance and employee relations, he lead a well-managed HR/Employee relations/Administration function. The Company had exceptional quality of talent resourced and nurtured with very high development and training initiatives. Further the Company had very high Employee Engagement scores of 94% and the lowest attrition rates in FMCG of less than 5%. Today PR is the preferred employer in Industry and has been selected as a “Great Place to Work.”
Gopi retired from service on November 30, 2015 and will be continuing with the company as a part time consultant till July 2016. He also has professional certification as an Executive Coach from Neuro Leadership Group – Results Coaching Systems and has taken up several assignments in Executive Coaching at Saga Consulting
